What is the key to knowing the books that God has written about you, and what are you going to do about this in your relationship with Him?
Discuss the veil and how it’s been removed because of Jesus. Now you can enter with no restrictions. How will you purpose to spend time encountering the Lord in your private time?
1. What does it mean to go from glory to glory and how is the veil removed where we see while reflecting God’s glory in our face as Moses did? How is it that Moses' face was glowing and how do you encounter this?
2. Discuss the order in a service and how we’ve gotten in too much of a hurry and have become too organized. We process through our services quickly where we have a certain number of songs, we do the offering, the prayer, the sermon, and then we usher people to leave. How can we spend more time on God in our services rather than pushing a schedule?
3. Take time to pray together and meditate on the Lord.
By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
—Hebrews 10:20
DISCUSSION:
In the temple, was the Holy Place. Behind that was the temple veil, a very thick curtain separating the Holy of Holies from the Holy place. It was so restricted that only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies once a year on the Day of Atonement. Within it was the Ark of the Covenant where the glory of the Lord would show up on that day.
When the high priest went in, he had to have the blood of a perfect lamb, from a perfect sacrifice. He was the only one allowed behind the veil. He also had to provide the sacred name of God, which was a secret name that God gave to Moses when He pronounced His name in the cleft of the rock. Moses then gave it to Aaron, and Aaron passed it off to the next high priest. It just kept being passed off to every high priest.
Now, because of Jesus, we can go beyond that veil. Jesus is the new and living way. He’s made it available to us because of His blood and sacrifice on the cross, so we can go behind the veil of the Holy of Holies. We come by the blood of Jesus. It's already been made for us and completed because the High Priest is Jesus Himself. He brought His own blood. Once we get behind the veil and go into the Holy of Holies, we start to understand who we are, and we become defined. We’re essentially defined because God has written a book about us before we were born, according to Psalm 139:16:
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
In the New Testament, the destiny that we have, even though it's pre-written, has to be revealed. It’s one of the biggest disconnects. That's why the Lord had me go into ministry. It's only been a couple of years, but He told me, “There's a disconnection and people need to understand, that even if I did write about them, if they don't know me, or aren't seeking me, then they can't know what's written about them." The Spirit is the one who's going to reveal these things to us. There's not enough emphasis in churches on the Holy Spirit and revelation knowledge.
What is the key to knowing the books that God has written about you, and what are you going to do about this in your relationship with Him?
LIKE MIRRORS WE REFLECT HIS GLORY
❖ 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 TPT:
But the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted and they see. Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever he is Lord, there is freedom. We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil, we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
• The Lord has taken the veil off of our eyes so we can see now.
• That’s because of the born-again experience.
• Jesus said you can't inherit the Kingdom of God unless you're born again (John 3:5).
• The Spirit causes us to be made brand new.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul talks about being a new creation, which means the old has passed away, and behold, all things have become new. Being born-again means that you’re a new creation and a new species. Your eyes are open, the veil is taken away, and you can go beyond that veil. We can see as a mirror, the glory of the Lord. When we look at the Lord, we reflect His glory. We’re like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. That glow coming off of the Lord can get through to us because the veil is removed. In this verse, Paul is secretly talking about what happened with Moses.
Moses was up on the mountain, and because he was with God for such a long time, his face began to transform (Exodus 34:29). It was from being with Him and looking at Him, but he didn't know it. When he came down the mountain, he thought everything was normal, but it wasn't. He had been transformed and transfigured. The people were afraid of him because he looked like God and he had the face of God. In the Hebrew translation, it says that light beams were coming out of his face toward the people. They were afraid of him. They asked him to put a veil on for them to handle him.
Paul’s talking about how the veil is being removed. Therefore, we're going to reflect the glory of the Lord. That’s how it's supposed to be in these last days. If you think about it, during this time of disease, they were wanting us to cover our faces. That’s a mockery of what's going on in the Spirit. According to Paul, God wants us to be transfigured. We're being transfigured right now into His image as we move from one level of glory to another.
The veil is removed. In other words, the mask is removed, and we’re reflecting the glory just like Moses did. Can you imagine if everybody had this happen?
